Donald Trump does not have a mandate to raise inflation through reckless tariffs, override Congress, or govern by executive order. Yet that’s the direction his administration is taking. Judges have already blocked several of his actions, citing constitutional concerns (The Guardian, Mar. 1, 2025). If state and federal leaders don’t act now, we risk sliding further from democracy. The sweeping DOGE cuts—led by Elon Musk—are already damaging public services. Federal safety, disaster response, and healthcare programs are seeing staffing shortages and delays. These decisions are being made without planning, oversight, or concern for real-world impact (MSNBC, Mar. 29, 2025). We need leaders willing to defend the Constitution and reject authoritarianism. Use your position to protect democratic checks, restore agency accountability, and reject this dangerous path.
