I am firmly against selling our precious public lands to fund a sovereign wealth fund. I am not against a sovereign wealth fund per se, as I think it creates an opportunity for entrepreneurship and innovation to flourish when done carefully without wasting tax payer dollars. But, I am against finding the money for such a fund from the sale of our precious public lands, which provide us beauty, protect our environment, and must be shielded for the enjoyment by future generations. I am also against semi-permanent leases of public land for the same reasons.
Please do not lease our public lands for drilling or excavation because that hurts the land, usually irreparably. This land is ours to preserve for future generations; we cannot fail in our guardianship role.
Please do not sell or lease our public lands.
