Project 2025 called for laws allowing the BLM to “dispose humanely” of wild horses. Under Trump, thousands were sold for as little as $25. Federally branded mustangs later appeared in shipments headed to Canadian slaughter plants to be killed, butchered, and SOLD AS MEAT! One day after this slaughter pipeline was exposed, Trump announced unidentified foreign beef trimmings at 25 percent below market prices. His administration has not disclosed the suppliers or countries involved. Has horse meat has entered America’s food supply? Secrecy from an administration with a record of false and unsupported claims, conflicts of interest, and private profiteering does not give Americans confidence. Who supplies this meat? Who profits? Do Trump, his family, officials, donors, or business partners have financial connections to this deal? Congress must disclose every supplier and financial beneficiary, trace every BLM horse, require complete chains of custody and DNA species testing of Trump’s mystery meat and ban horse sales and exports for slaughter. No American should bite into a hamburger and wonder whether it once ran wild wearing a federal mustang brand. Follow the money and prove it is beef before it reaches our tables.
