Read sec 70302 and STRIKE IT DOWN

To: Sen. Durbin, Rep. Schakowsky, Sen. Duckworth

From: A constituent in Chicago, IL

May 22

Hidden on page 544 of the budget plan that recently passed through the House of Representatives is a section titled "SEC. 70302. RESTRICTION ON ENFORCEMENT." This provision would eliminate the courts' ability to enforce contempt charges, thus unconstitutionally ceding power to the executive branch. The full text reads as follows: > *No court of the United States may enforce a contempt citation for failure to comply with an injunction or temporary restraining order if no security was given when the injunction or order was issued pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 65(c), whether issued prior to, on, or subsequent to the date of enactment of this section.* > This has been corroborated by Newsweek as of today. > `https://www.newsweek.com/hidden-provision-trump-bill-court-2075769` > Let every senator and judge know of this provision so they may strike the bill down, as it disqualifies it from budget reconciliation. Thank you.
