Cancel misguided military parade; redirect funds to public services

The proposed military parade in Washington, D.C. is a misguided and excessive display that goes against principles of democratic governance. At an estimated cost of $25-45 million, spending vast sums on a gaudy show of military might is a flagrant misuse of taxpayer funds that could be better directed towards pressing needs like education, health care, and public services. Beyond the fiscal irresponsibility, this parade carries an authoritarian air that politicizes and glorifies the military in a manner incompatible with American values. Rather than uniting the nation, it will further inflame political divisions at a time when measured leadership and bringing people together should be the priority. I urge you to reconsider this ill-advised parade and instead focus efforts on substantive policies that improve lives and uphold democratic ideals.
