I am writing out of anger and despair about ICE’s actions in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. These raids are not protecting anyone—they are destroying families who have built honest lives here. People who work hard, pay taxes, and contribute to their communities are being treated like criminals for existing.
A family I know personally could not locate their parent for two full weeks after ICE took them. Two weeks of silence. Two weeks of children crying every night, trying to understand why their parent was suddenly gone. No explanation, no compassion—just absence and fear. That is not law enforcement. That is state-sponsored cruelty.
These children have had to shoulder the responsibilities left in the wake of their parent’s abduction—trying to keep up with schoolwork, hold their family together, and pretend that everything is fine while their world has been ripped apart. The trauma is visible, and it will not fade easily.
This is not justice. It is kidnapping, sanctioned by our own government. I demand that Congress disband ICE and begin immediate investigations into their human rights violations. Every day this agency continues to operate, more damage is done to the moral fabric of this country.
