I am writing to urge you to reject all campaign contributions from Palantir Technologies, its PAC, and its employees, and to donate any past contributions to immigrant aid organizations.
A new tracker called "Purge Palantir" has identified dozens of Democrats who have accepted money from a company that provides data analytics services directly enabling ICE's aggressive deportation operations. This creates an untenable contradiction as our party opposes ICE's current tactics. Rep. Pat Ryan from the Hudson Valley has already pledged to reject Palantir money and donate at least $93,000 in past contributions to immigrant aid groups. Rep. Josh Riley received at least $76,000 from Palantir sources, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries' victory fund accepted $44,000 from a single Palantir manager.
The issue extends beyond campaign contributions. Rep. Tom Suozzi's stock portfolio included up to $50,000 in Palantir holdings as of late 2024, raising additional ethical concerns about personal financial interests in a company profiting from immigration enforcement.
While Palantir defends its work by noting contracts with DHS and ICE dating back to the Obama administration, the current political environment demands a clear stance. Voters expect consistency between our stated values on immigration and the sources of our campaign funding. Accepting money from a company that provides the technological infrastructure for mass deportations undermines our credibility on this issue.
I ask that you publicly commit to refusing future Palantir contributions and return or donate any past contributions to organizations supporting immigrant communities. This is not about partisan politics but about aligning our actions with our principles. Rep. Ryan has shown leadership on this issue, and I hope you will follow his example.
