Al Jazeer reports today, April 24, that "Gaza could surpass famine thresholds of food insecurity, malnutrition and mortality in six weeks," according to the Geneva director of the World Food Programme (WFP), Gian Carlo Cirri. Cirri continues. “We need to scale up massively our assistance … But under the current conditions, I’m afraid the situation will further deteriorate.” Ceasefire NOW and END Israel's siege on Gaza immediately to allow aid organizations to flood the enclave with aid and allow unrestricted access to the 2.3 million people who need it! Ceasefire NOW to allow the people a Gaza a chance to grieve their loved ones massacred by the Israeli military. Ceasefire NOW to allow the healthcare sector some chance to recover and take care of the 76,000 Palestinians wounded by Israel in the past 6 months alone - not to mention the tens of thousands who were already needing regular life-saving medical care prior to the current genocidal attack. I am demanding you to take immediate steps to stop Israel’s genocide of Palestinians by calling for 1) a total and permanent ceasefire, 2) humanitarian aid allowed to enter Gaza, 3) an end to Israel's siege on Gaza, 4) the release of all Palestinian and Israeli hostages, 5) no more weapons or funding to the Israeli military, 6) the reinstatement of UNRWA funding. A permanent ceasefire is an absolutely critical step to ensuring everlasting liberation and peace.
