Solar and wind energy are now cheaper than oil, yet we remain dangerously dependent on fossil fuels. I need you to prioritize legislation that accelerates our transition to renewable energy and ends subsidies for the oil industry.
The current conflict in the Middle East makes this more urgent, not less. Every dollar we spend on oil funds instability in regions where our military is deployed. We're paying twice: once at the pump and again in defense spending to secure oil supplies. Meanwhile, solar panels and wind turbines don't require us to maintain military presence in volatile regions.
The technology has already won on economics. Renewable energy is cheaper and getting more affordable every year. What's missing is political will to phase out the infrastructure and subsidies propping up oil. We need federal investment in renewable energy manufacturing, grid modernization, and a clear timeline for ending fossil fuel dependence.
This isn't just about climate anymore. It's about national security, economic sense, and ending the cycle of conflict over resources we don't need. Support renewable energy legislation and oppose any expansion of oil drilling or fossil fuel subsidies.
