Suspending the writ of habeus corpus means that anyone could be detained for no reason, without due process. Under the Constitution that has served our country for hundreds of years, even non-citizens have the right to a free trial. Everyone has the right to question and challenge why they're being detained, if that situation should occur. Without that, we don't have a democracy. We have a dictatorship. I can't mince words- we're living in dangerous times. Don't assume ICE and law enforcement always act fairly, because they don't, and people ARE going to be hurt if this comes to pass. I am begging you to consider the consequences of unchecked power for more than two seconds and DO something about it.
