I am writing again because my outrage over this disastrous budget has only grown. This is nothing more than a calculated attack on the poor to further enrich the wealthy, and I refuse to stay silent while you and your colleagues allow it to happen.
People in Alabama are already struggling—working multiple jobs, trying to afford basic necessities, and relying on programs that this budget seeks to gut. Slashing Medicaid, cutting food assistance, and stripping away vital social services is not "fiscal responsibility"—it’s cruelty. And all of it so billionaires can pocket even more money they don’t need? It’s appalling.
This budget is a direct betrayal of working families, children, seniors, and the most vulnerable members of our society. It is nothing less than robbing the poor to give to the rich. How do you defend that? Who do you think will suffer because of these decisions? Because it won’t be the ultra-wealthy donors who fund campaigns—it will be your actual constituents.
I demand an explanation. Why are you supporting policies that punish everyday Alabamians while rewarding the ultra-rich? Whose interests are you really serving? Because right now, it’s clear that it’s not the people who put you in office.
I expect a response.
