The Republican funding bill would continue prioritizing profits over people by cutting non-defense spending while boosting military budgets. We cannot support legislation that sacrifices investments in critical domestic programs for tax breaks benefiting the wealthy and corporations. Passing this partisan measure risks enabling further exploitation and dismantling of public services that uplift working families. Instead, Congress should protect the middle class through equitable tax reforms requiring the ultra-wealthy to pay their fair share. Only then can we ensure funding goes towards affordable housing, healthcare, education and other pillars of economic opportunity for all Americans. Rejecting this bill upholds our commitment to an economy that values human dignity over unchecked greed.
