Uphold the Constitution — No Unauthorized War with Iran

To: Sen. Schumer, Rep. Tonko, Sen. Gillibrand, Pres. Trump

From: A verified voter in Schenectady, NY

March 4

As your constituent, I urge you to take immediate action to prevent further escalation and to oppose any unauthorized military engagement with Iran. The Constitution is clear: Congress holds the power to declare war. Any sustained military action without explicit congressional authorization undermines that responsibility and sets a dangerous precedent. I respectfully ask that you: • Publicly oppose any unauthorized use of military force against Iran • Demand full transparency regarding current operations and legal justification • Support diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and prevent war War carries profound human and financial costs. As a parent and constituent, I believe diplomacy and constitutional process must come first. Please let me know what actions you will take to uphold Congress’s authority and protect our nation from another unnecessary conflict.
