Oppose Any Cuts to Federal Holidays

To: Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Andrews, Sen. Peters, Rep. Walberg, Gov. Whitmer, Sen. Nesbitt, Pres. Trump

From: A verified voter in Stevensville, MI

September 17

Oppose any effort to reduce federal holidays. Adults spend nearly 80% of their healthiest years — from 18 to retirement — working. Those are the same years people have the energy to travel, connect with family, and actually enjoy life. Cutting holidays doesn't make America more productive; it makes it more exhausted. The U.S. already trails most developed nations on guaranteed time off. The UK mandates 28 paid days off per year. France guarantees 25. Germany offers up to 30. Meanwhile, American workers get 11 federal holidays and, in many jobs, no guaranteed paid vacation at all. If anything, Congress should be expanding paid leave, not chipping away at what little workers already have. Push back hard on any proposal that moves in the wrong direction.
