The Trump administration's decision to cut funding for PBS children's educational programming like "Sesame Street" and "Molly of Denali" is misguided. These shows have a proven track record of fostering early learning and academic skills in young viewers. For decades, the bipartisan Ready To Learn grant has enabled PBS to create high-quality educational content that expands worlds of possibilities for millions of kids across the country. Defunding this vital resource would deprive children, especially those from underserved communities, of access to enriching media that supports their cognitive and social-emotional development. We urge a reconsideration of this harmful policy that undermines a crucial public service. Quality educational programming for all children should be a national priority, not treated as "woke propaganda." Investing in our youth's foundational learning is an investment in America's future.
