Today the house passed H.R.22 - SAVE Act, a complete waste of legislative energy which proposes a solution to a non existent problem that only a clownish fool like our president would consider necessary. While there are plenty of other important issues that Congress should be focused on, it will be important to make sure this waste of à bill dies quickly. The Senate should not take it up, vote to support it, or make any effort to advance it. Instead, a continuing focus on reform of DHS, reigning in the corruption and incompetence of the current administration, work to address climate change, and to advance equity and justice are needed. The people in mass are clear that they oppose the misguided direction the current administration is attempting to implement and the SAVE Act is just one more example of the disconnect between what is needed and what Republicans are focusing on.
