The latest Social Security Trustees Report projects that the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI) Trust Fund could be depleted in 2032, after which only about 78% of scheduled retirement benefits would be payable unless Congress acts.
I urge you to protect Social Security by supporting legislation that strengthens the program without cutting earned benefits. One proposal would require high earners to continue paying Social Security payroll taxes on earnings above the current taxable wage cap, helping improve the program's long-term solvency while asking those with the greatest ability to contribute to do so.
Please make protecting and strengthening Social Security a priority. Millions of current and future retirees depend on the benefits they have earned through a lifetime of work.
