The President recently attempted to use the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport Venezuelan migrants from the United States into one of the most horrifying facilities in the world - CECOT. Our media continues to call it a prison, but it’s far from how we would envision one. It is designed to be traumatizing.
Also by design nobody imprisoned CECOT has ever left. There is no avenue to make it happen. The inmates are not allowed any contact with the outside world including lawyers. Bukele admits to accidentally sending his own innocent citizens there but stood by this policy and refused to release them.
The United States murdered 238 Venezuelan men this week without due process. We sent them to a fate wore than death and our government does not want to tell us who these men were.
We know one was a father in Maryland who wasn’t even Venezuelan. One was a gay barber with no gang ties. According to CBS News 90% did not have police records in the United States and 75% did not have records anywhere.
Demand ICE release all information on the individuals they kidnapped from our streets and sent to spend the remainder of their lives being tortured all the time.
If our government is destroying these people’s lives, who were our neighbors just a week ago - then we deserve to know who and exactly why.
