Congressional Investigation Request
I urge you to demand a full congressional investigation into the newly disclosed evidence that the White House convened five federal agencies to discuss taking “immediate actions” against Colorado shortly after President Trump demanded that Colorado release convicted election denier Tina Peters.
The timing is deeply troubling: major federal funding cuts and cancellations followed almost immediately. Congress must determine whether federal agencies were directed to retaliate against Colorado for political reasons or to punish state officials for refusing to comply with the President’s demand.
Please demand the preservation and release of all relevant emails, messages, meeting records, and communications; hold public hearings; and ensure that the appropriate committees and inspectors general investigate.
If the investigation establishes that the President or other federal officials abused their authority, unlawfully retaliated against Colorado, or committed other impeachable offenses, I urge you to pursue impeachment and every other appropriate constitutional remedy.
No president should be allowed to weaponize federal funding or executive power against a state for political retaliation. Please investigate fully and hold those responsible accountable.
