The actions by ICE deporting U.S. citizen children and separating families are deeply disturbing violations of human rights and due process. Disappearing people and denying them legal counsel is unlawful and unconscionable. These vulnerable children and pregnant women are being traumatized and their health endangered without justification. Such cruelty toward U.S. citizens and lawful residents betrays our nation's values. ICE must be held accountable for these egregious abuses of power. Robust oversight and swift legislative action are needed to rein in this rogue agency that is operating without regard for the law or basic human decency. Funding should be cut off until ICE can demonstrate it will respect civil liberties and follow constitutional requirements. No government entity should be allowed to perpetrate such inhumane treatment with impunity. This lawlessness cannot stand. We will be voting you out at our next opportunity.
