The United States must honor our commitments to protect Ukraine from Russia's unlawful aggression. Ukraine gave up it's nuclear weapons in return for guarantees of protection. We must honor our commitment as it's the right thing and the way we continue to have respect and influence over others. We cannot use Ukraine's predicament to blackmail it into allowing the United States to exploit it for its resources. That is shameful. We must not negotiate on Ukraine's behalf. It's people have fought bravely to defend their home and land and it is not our country's right to say that it must give up any of its land, including Crimea. Putin must not be allowed to have success from his unlawful actions and he must be held accountable. Our government taking advantage of the situation for its own benefit or even siding with Putin due to corruption must be stopped. Put a stop to it. Our country must be better than this for our own national security and the world's.
