U.S. Senate: Oppose the Anti-BDS Labeling Act, H.R. 5179

To: Sen. Casey, Pres. Biden, Rep. Fitzpatrick, Sen. Fetterman

From: A constituent in Feasterville Trevose, PA

September 20

We urge you to vote against the Anti-BDS Labeling Act, H.R. 5179, currently before the Senate. This bill undermines supply chain transparency by allowing products made in Gaza or illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank to be labeled as "Made in Israel." Such misleading labeling obscures the true origins of these goods, preventing consumers from making informed and ethical choices. The U.S. should recognize the true origins of products made by the Palestinian people, whose contributions are often hidden under false labels. The fight against misrepresentation mirrors the broader struggle faced by Palestinians, who are denied transparency and recognition in a world dominated by narratives that erase their presence. Allowing misleading labels perpetuates a harmful precedent aligned with colonial legacies and undermines honest consumer representation. Voting against H.R. 5179 is a stand for truth in labeling and respect for the sovereignty of all communities, especially those historically marginalized. We call on the Senate to uphold transparency and integrity in supply chains. Reject the Anti-BDS Labeling Act, H.R. 5179, and ensure consumers can trust the information they receive about the products they purchase.
