The idiots at DOGE think a smart cost-cutting move is to remove navigational buoys on the nation's waterways. That's like saving highway funds by taking down street lights and stop signs.
Sailing Anarchy said this - "It’s an absolute hatchet job, for example axing 11 buoys in Woods Hole alone. Anyone who’s been through Woods Hole knows how tricky it can be, and it really doesn’t feel like they can afford to get rid of any buoys there. I’ve personally seen more than one sinking due to pilot confusion and this will just make it worse."
I know people who have navigated through Woods Hole on a sailboat with tidal currents, and it is no easy trip. People are going g to die. Don’t let these cuts happen!
