Condemn Israel for murdering aid workers

To: Sen. Blumenthal, Pres. Biden, Rep. Courtney, Sen. Murphy

From: A verified voter in Marlborough, CT

November 28

The assault by Israel forces on Gaza has resulted in a devastating crisis, with aid workers being murdered by Israel. As stated by the UN, 2024 has already become the deadliest year on record for humanitarian personnel, with over 330 aid workers killed, most of them UNRWA staff. This unacceptable murder of aid workers shows a disturbing disregard for civilian lives. Israel's military actions have directly contributed to this dire situation, exemplified by the strike on a school sheltering displaced Palestinians in Gaza City that killed 13 people. Such attacks on civilian infrastructure and targeting of humanitarian operations are inexcusable breaches of international law and human rights. Robust measures must be taken to ensure the protection of aid workers and civilians, while firmly holding Israel accountable for these appalling actions that have needlessly cost so many innocent lives. Immediate steps towards a lasting ceasefire and renewed commitment to humanitarian principles are desperately needed. www.democracynow.org/2024/11/27/headlines/2024_becomes_deadliest_year_for_humanitarian_aid_workers_due_to_israels_assault_on_gaza I demand you do everything in your power to: - Support the ICC for issuing arrest warrants for Netanyahu, and oppose all efforts to sanction the ICC – Hold Israel accountable to a permanent, immediate ceasefire and for their repeat violations of international law – Call for the immediate end of Israel’s occupation and apartheid - Support Palestinians in their fight for freedom and peace – Secure the immediate release and safety of all hostages, including Palestinians held by Israel in "military prisons", including those whose indefinite detention began prior to 10/7/24 – Permanently end all monetary, diplomatic, and military aid given to Israel and enforce U.S. laws like Leahy Law and the Arms Export Control Act – Resume full funding of UNRWA and allocate more funds to aid humanitarian efforts in Gaza – Immediately withdraw all U.S. troops, military assets, and all other assets deployed throughout the Middle East and cease all actions that further escalate a larger regional conflict - Void all anti-BDS laws and other laws that infringe on my right to freedom of speech to criticize any political ideology or country, and to use my money in ways that align with my values
