I Oppose U.S. Involvement in War with Iran

To: Rep. McDonald Rivet, Sen. Slotkin, Sen. Peters

From: A constituent in Davison, MI

June 18

I am writing to express my strong opposition to any U.S. involvement in a war with Iran. The recent escalation in the region stems from decisions made by Israel—decisions that were not made in consultation with the American people, nor in our interest. We, the citizens of the United States, do not want another endless war. We are still living with the cost—both human and financial—of previous conflicts in the Middle East. This country needs to prioritize peace, diplomacy, and rebuilding at home, not get dragged into yet another war that will cost lives, destabilize the region further, and do little to protect American interests. Let me be absolutely clear: any politician who supports or votes in favor of the U.S. going to war with Iran will never receive my vote again. This issue is not up for negotiation. I urge you to stand with the American people and reject any proposals that would involve our military in this conflict. We did not choose this fight. Let those who did bear the responsibility.
