I am writing to urge you to call for the immediate resignation of FBI Director Kash Patel following his latest display of inappropriate conduct and misuse of taxpayer resources. His behavior at the USA men's hockey gold medal game in Milan on February 22 demonstrates a troubling pattern of prioritizing personal interests over his duties as the nation's top law enforcement official.
While Patel was celebrating in the Team USA locker room, drinking alcohol and jumping up and down with players who placed a gold medal around his neck, he had just announced that the FBI was investigating a fatal shooting at Mar-a-Lago. During the third period of that same game, his official government X account posted a statement about an armed individual being shot and killed after unlawfully entering the resort. This juxtaposition of partying while managing a critical security incident at a presidential property raises serious questions about his judgment and priorities.
The FBI claims this trip was official business, not personal travel. However, attending a hockey game and celebrating in a locker room hardly constitutes essential law enforcement duties. This follows reports of Patel using government jets for personal travel, representing a clear waste of taxpayer funds. Americans deserve an FBI Director who uses government resources responsibly, not someone who treats the position as an opportunity for celebrity access and personal enjoyment.
This is not an isolated incident. Patel previously faced criticism for keeping a dinner reservation at an exclusive New York restaurant on the night of Charlie Kirk's assassination and making improper public statements about that case. These repeated lapses demonstrate a fundamental unsuitability for leading the FBI.
The FBI Director must maintain the highest standards of professionalism and judgment. Kash Patel has repeatedly failed to meet this standard. I urge you to publicly call for his resignation and support congressional oversight into his misuse of government resources.
