American taxpayers don't want to help Israel bomb hospitals
To: Sen. Murphy, Pres. Biden, Rep. Courtney, Sen. Blumenthal

October 22
The indiscriminate bombing of residential areas and hospitals by Israel forces is a grave violation of international humanitarian law and a blatant disregard for civilian lives. The strike on Rafik Hariri University Hospital, Beirut's main public hospital, has resulted in tragic loss of life, including a child, and severe injuries to many others. Targeting medical facilities that provide essential care to the wounded and sick is an unconscionable act that must be condemned in the strongest terms. This attack compounds the immense suffering inflicted on the Lebanese people by Israel's relentless bombardment over the past weeks. It is imperative that Israel immediately ceases its aggression against Lebanon and adheres to the principles of international law which explicitly prohibit attacks on civilian populations and objects. A return to negotiations and a lasting ceasefire are essential to prevent further humanitarian catastrophe, safeguard regional stability, and pave the way for a just resolution. The ongoing campaign of indiscriminate violence serves no strategic purpose but to cause more poeple to hate Israel and rightfully so.
