Reject SAVE Act, protect voter access and election integrity.

To: Sen. Warren, Sen. Markey, Rep. Trahan

From: A verified voter in Lowell, MA

March 23

The SAVE Act's proposed restrictions on voter registration raise grave concerns about undermining access to the democratic process. Requiring extensive documentary proof of citizenship would create significant barriers, disproportionately impacting marginalized communities and citizens who lack readily available documentation. This threatens to disenfranchise millions of eligible voters across the nation. The right to vote is a cornerstone of our democracy, and any measures that impede this fundamental right should be scrutinized and opposed. Rather than erecting new obstacles, our efforts should focus on expanding voter participation and ensuring the integrity of elections through proven, reliable methods that do not disproportionately burden citizens seeking to exercise their constitutional rights. In recognizing the significant drawbacks and potential for widespread voter suppression, I urge you to publicly denounce and vote against the SAVE Act. Protecting the ability of all eligible citizens to participate in free and fair elections must be a paramount priority. Safeguarding this essential democratic principle demands rejecting measures that risk undermining the voice of the people.
