I sincerely want to thank you for the political advertisements you ran this weekend. They were far more educational than you probably intended. Our household decided to fact check your accusations against Democrats and examine what Republicans have accomplished after nearly 24 years of complete control of Texas government. The results were enlightening. So we examined what nearly 24 years of complete Republican control of Texas government has produced. Here is the record: Highest percentage of uninsured residents in America. 1.1 million children without health insurance in 2024. More than 6 million Texans facing food insecurity. 47th in public school spending per student. 7th highest effective property tax rate. 6th highest average monthly residential electric bills. More rural hospitals losing inpatient care than any other state since 2010. Curiously, none of these accomplishments made it into your commercials. We kept looking for your positive achievements. Apparently, your advertising team had difficulty finding them too. The most remarkable result? Every Republican in our household now plans to vote Democratic. So please extend our sincere appreciation to your campaign donors. Their money accomplished something years of political debate never did. It persuaded our family to reconsider its political allegiance. Perhaps your next advertisements could explain why, after decades in power, your party still spends so much time blaming Democrats for the condition of Texas. We would genuinely appreciate an answer.
