As your constituent, I urge you to support the Reimagining Safety Act and dismantling DHS and ICE. DHS and ICE have terrorized the American people and, especially under this administration, consistently defied the law. In just a year, they have deported more than 170 people in violation of court orders, in defiance of legally mandated due process protections, or to countries from which they had sought or received protection from torture and persecution. Already at least 27 people have died in ICE custody just this year. Last year, 33 people died in their custody, the highest total in more than two decades. Our neighbors live in fear from a lawless agency that operates with impunity. I urge you to abolish both DHS and ICE and protect the people who rely on you to make this country safe.
