One of the things our current president promised on the campaign trail was that he would not involve the United States in overseas wars. He has broken that promise by illegally waging war against Iran, claiming that Iran was an imminent threat to the United States, despite claiming just six months ago that his earlier missile strike “completely obliterated” Iran’s nuclear program. It is up to Congress to assert its authority to decide whether our country goes to war, and to hold the president accountable for his overreach and his broken promises.
