Senator, I write to you in the immediate aftermath of the murder of a civilian by I.C.E. officials in Minnesota, and the simmering controversy surrounding American intervention in Venezuela.
I and other citizens demand immediate action to protect New Yorkers from increasingly violent, unregulated, undertrained, and dangerous immigration enforcement officers terrorizing immigrants and citizens alike.
Additionally, our president has made it clear his actions in Venezuela are not to “stop drug trafficking,” but instead to boost oil companies and their profits.
Our executive leadership is actively hurting and endangering our community through needless violence, increasing aggression against LGBTQ and BIPOC communities, and his clear and apparent disregard for anyone but the top 1% of earners in the country.
What will you do to stop the fascist in chief? We demand action. Will you stand on the right side of history, or will you be memorialized in history as someone who didn’t have the guts to protect their people when they needed them most?
The choice is yours.
