The widespread "Hands Off" protests spanning over 1,300 locations across the US and world demonstrate significant public opposition to the harmful policies enacted by President Trump and Elon Musk. Their actions, including shuttering Social Security offices, firing essential workers, eliminating consumer protections, and gutting Medicaid, prioritize corporate interests over the wellbeing of ordinary people. Massive crowds numbering in the tens of thousands have turned out in major cities like New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, and Boston, as well as smaller cities and towns, to voice their discontent. The protesters represent a diverse coalition of over 150 organizations, including civil rights groups, labor unions, and LGBTQ+ advocates. This widespread mobilization highlights the urgent need to reverse course on these destructive and unpopular policies that disproportionately impact vulnerable communities. A change in direction is imperative to protect essential services, worker rights, and the social safety net that millions rely on.
