For years I’ve seen videos and read accounts of savage police brutality against the people they’re supposed to serve. Now I see that police killed a 1 year old boy because the parent was accused of stealing diapers. The receipt shows the diapers weren’t stolen yet the police murdered that little boy. Some people say the parent should have tried to run but then this case is exactly why people, innocent or not, run from the police. The police aren’t just a problem. I now believe the activists when they say the police are actually a publicly funded occupying army unaccountable to the community much like the IDF is an occupying army in Gaza. If the police were a real organization that serves the community they would be hand delivering baby supplies to any parent that needs it. We need to do the work to remove the duties we give the police and give those duties to other organizations. It’s time to make the police obsolete.
