Stonekettle (Jim Wright) writes today, "Thousands of troops on the way to the Arabian Gulf. Trump threatening to "reign [sic]" down hell on Iran. And Hegseth fired the Army Chief of Staff and a dozen other flag officers across the services. The ONLY reason you'd do that is because those senior officers, those experts on war, literally some of the world's most experienced experts in the profession of arms, told you what you're about to do is wrong, doomed to fail, and a crime -- and your rotten shriveled ego couldn't take it." Trump is committing repeated crimes, has in fact campaigned on saying the criminal thing out loud and made his second term destructive over and over by doing the criminal thing. ANY OTHER GOVERNMENT SERVANT so oblivious of and contemptuous toward their Federal oath of service would already be behind bars. Stop acting like this is not a moral imperative for all of you. I was a Federal Defense employee and I know about obligations, moral, ethical, and continuing. I see the inaction as inexcusable, and the imperative action that will prevent more of this as removal of Trump and his Cabinet from office. Anything less is an indictment of a government system that fails to govern or benefit society ... that's a moral failure as well as a practical one. Don't ask for permission. The benefit to all of us will more than excuse the breach of protocol or "professionalism." Obsessing over appearances helped get us here anyway.
