ICE agents are racially profiling and detaining U.S. citizens and valid visa holders—especially Native residents—based solely on their appearance. Some agents have even refused to recognize Tribal ID cards and Certificates of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB) as valid proof of citizenship. These actions violate civil rights and federal law.
Beyond profiling, ICE is making arrests without reasonable suspicion, ignoring constitutional protections. The previous administration even questioned Native birthright citizenship, disregarding the 14th Amendment and the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924. It is unacceptable that the first peoples of this land face threats of deportation.
As your constituent, I urge you to:
Reject nominees who support unconstitutional immigration enforcement.
Speak out against these violations and pressure the White House to reverse course.
Refuse to fund unlawful immigration raids and detention.
Ensure Tribal programs remain fully funded, as required by treaty and federal law.
Please take action now to stop these unjust and illegal policies.
