It is unconscionable that the United States continues to supply military aid to Israel as it blocks critical humanitarian assistance to Gaza, deliberately pushing the region into a man-made famine. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has not only failed to stop this atrocity but has been caught lying to the American people, claiming that aid was flowing freely when, in reality, Israel has been systematically restricting the passage of essential food, water, and medical supplies. This isn’t a military tactic; it’s a methodical starvation campaign. Israel’s leadership has explicitly admitted to tightening the blockade with full knowledge that they are driving Gaza’s civilians into a catastrophic humanitarian crisis. In any other context, the deliberate targeting of a civilian population by blocking aid and denying them basic survival needs would be rightfully labeled as war crimes. Yet, the U.S. continues to funnel billions of dollars in military aid to Israel, subsidizing this grotesque behavior. This is blood money—funding a regime that has chosen to weaponize hunger and deprivation. Bombing them by the masses. The recent documentary, Starving Gaza (featured on Democracy Now, October 3, 2024), lays out the scale of this manufactured disaster in devastating detail. Israel is not just restricting aid—it is prolonging suffering, creating a reality where children are dying from lack of food, water, and medicine in hospitals running on empty. These are not accidental casualties of war but the direct results of a blockade intended to strangle the life out of Gaza’s population. Moreover, the U.S. government’s support of any country that blocks U.S.-supplied humanitarian aid is a violation of multiple domestic laws, including provisions in the Foreign Assistance Act and the Arms Export Control Act. Continuing to provide military assistance to Israel while it denies this aid is not only morally indefensible, but also illegal under our own laws. As an elected representative, you have the legal responsibility to act. Continuing to send military support to a country that uses starvation as a weapon of war makes the United States complicit in these crimes against humanity. Congress must immediately cut off all military aid to Israel, demand an end to the blockade, and ensure that lifesaving humanitarian aid reaches the people of Gaza. Failing to act on this is a failure to uphold the values of human dignity and justice that this country supposedly stands for. I refuse to support or vote for any official who backs military aid to Israel while it pursues this calculated destruction of Palestinian lives. You have failed to earn our votes. Your actions, or lack thereof, will not be forgotten. Stop the aid. End the blockade. Let the people of Gaza live.
