I’m writing after months of unanswered calls, because silence is no substitute for action when our future is at stake. My mother was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s at 59. Now 68, she lives in a nursing home and doesn’t know who we are. Daily delusions shattered our peace. I watched love turn to frustration, sadness spiral into grief, and guilt. That heartbreak is my truth, and it’s why today’s medical breakthroughs matter so deeply. Treatments on the horizon, like GLP‑1 drugs showing promise in slowing or preventing dementia, offer real hope. But that hope is fragile, and it’s being fractured right now. We cannot let politics poison progress. RFK Jr. has dismantled HHS boards, replaced science with skepticism, and injected misinformation into decisions that determine funding and direction. He’s gutting the very agencies responsible for breakthroughs against Alzheimer’s, cancer, HIV, diabetes, and more. Lives are not laboratory variables; they are real, raw, and irreplaceable. Health and science should unite us, not be weaponized for political gain. We need steadfast scientific stewardship, not rhetoric, not recklessness. Please act immediately to remove RFK Jr., restore evidence-based leadership at HHS, and safeguard the discoveries so many families, including mine, desperately need. This isn’t partisan, it’s personal. And it’s urgent.
