Thank you for all the work you do for our state of Alabama. I’m writing as your constituent to urge you to oppose any taxpayer-funded payout to former President Trump reportedly totaling around $230 million. Even for those of us who support his presidency, this request goes too far. Conservatives believe in fiscal responsibility, limited government, and accountability. A massive settlement like this would burden taxpayers, set a dangerous precedent for future claims by public officials, and weaken the principle that no one is above the law. At a time when our nation faces real challenges—budget constraints, national security needs, and rising costs for families—our tax dollars should serve the public good, not personal compensation for any politician. I hope you’ll stand firm for fairness, restraint, and responsible use of taxpayer money by opposing this payout.
