Sanction Israel for murdering journalist Ahmad Al-Louh

To: Rep. Courtney, Pres. Biden, Sen. Murphy, Sen. Blumenthal

From: A verified voter in Marlborough, CT

December 16

The targeted murder of cameraman Ahmad Al-Louh by Israel occupation forces while covering rescue operations in Gaza is a blatant attack on press freedom and the safety of journalists. This disturbing act follows a pattern of violence against media professionals in the occupied Palestinian territories. It is imperative that the international community takes urgent action to hold the Israel authorities accountable for these heinous crimes against journalists and media workers. The systematic targeting and killing of journalists cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. Practical measures must be adopted to prosecute perpetrators and safeguard the ability of journalists to report freely without fear of violence or retaliation. The ongoing Israel crimes against Palestinian civilians and journalists in Gaza demand global condemnation and decisive steps to end the occupation and secure justice for victims. The rights of journalists and the free press must be respected and protected at all times. network.aljazeera.net/en/press-releases/al-jazeera-condemns-targeted-killing-journalist-ahmad-al-louh-israeli-occupation I demand you do everything in your power to: - Support the ICC for issuing arrest warrants for Netanyahu, and oppose all efforts to sanction the ICC – Hold Israel accountable to a permanent, immediate ceasefire and for their repeat violations of international law – Call for the immediate end of Israel’s occupation and apartheid - Support Palestinians in their fight for freedom and peace – Secure the immediate release and safety of all hostages, including Palestinians held by Israel in "military prisons", including those whose indefinite detention began prior to 10/7/24 – Permanently end all monetary, diplomatic, and military aid given to Israel and enforce U.S. laws like Leahy Law and the Arms Export Control Act – Resume full funding of UNRWA and allocate more funds to aid humanitarian efforts in Gaza – Immediately withdraw all U.S. troops, military assets, and all other assets deployed throughout the Middle East and cease all actions that further escalate a larger regional conflict - Void all anti-BDS laws and other laws that infringe on my right to freedom of speech to criticize any political ideology or country, and to use my money in ways that align with my values
