Demand Medicare for all as terms to end the shutdown

To: Sen. Welch, Sen. Sanders

From: A constituent in Essex Junction, VT

November 5

Do not cave to republican demands on the shutdown if it means healthcare subsidies are eliminated. Healthcare is critical to our country. Citizens are being robbed by health insurance companies in premiums, high deductibles, and denials of coverage. This is life and death for so many Americans. Might I remind you BOTH that you work for me. I am a member of your constituency. I demand access to affordable healthcare for ALL Americans, not just the billionaires and oligarchs. Not just for you and the rest of your lucky politicians who get the best healthcare coverage in the world for FREE while we scrape by whatever we have le ft to pay for medicines and doctor visits. The audacity of any democratic senator even thinking of selling out their most needy and vulnerable constituents is deplorable. I demand you fight back against these cruel forces on the other side of the aisle actively trying to hurt US citizens by eliminating access to affordable healthcare. Moreso, you need to be demanding MEDICARE FOR ALL! Obamacare/ACA was Mitt Romney's plan. Now is the time to fight for a public option that supports the public. Don't you dare cave on this shutdown if it means taking away access to healthcare from your constituents.
