Urgent Concern Regarding Constitutional Violations

To: Sen. Hughes, Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Sen. Cornyn, Pres. Trump, Rep. Moran, Sen. Cruz, Rep. Dean

From: A constituent in Kilgore, TX

March 18

I am writing to express my deep concern about several recent actions by President Trump that I believe may violate the Constitution and undermine our democratic principles. Specifically: 1. Defiance of Court Orders – Ignoring judicial rulings and proceeding with actions despite federal court injunctions. 2. Misuse of the Alien Enemies Act – Exploiting this 1798 law to deport individuals without due process, setting a dangerous precedent. 3. Assault on Birthright Citizenship – Attempting to end birthright citizenship through executive action, despite constitutional protections. 4. Firing Inspectors General – Removing oversight officials without justification or the legally required notice to Congress. 5. Interference with the Justice Department – Openly bragging about using the DOJ to target political opponents. 6. Sabotaging the Social Security Administration – Implementing policies that make it harder for Americans to access their earned benefits. 7. Undermining Freedom of Speech – Threatening journalists, suppressing dissent, and retaliating against critics. 8. Imprisoning People Without Due Process – Detaining individuals indefinitely without fair trials or legal justification. These actions threaten the checks and balances that are fundamental to our democracy. I urge you to take a stand in defending our Constitution by holding the executive branch accountable.
