Save Lake Blue Ridge

To: Sen. Ossoff, Rep. Clyde, Sen. Warnock

From: A constituent in Blue Ridge, GA

July 27

We are writing as concerned residents and lake users to strongly oppose the pending permit application by Lake Blue Ridge Marina to the Tennessee Valley Authority. This application seeks to: (1) nearly double the marina’s existing boat slip capacity, (2) introduce floating rental cabins for short-term rental use, and (3) redraw the marina’s harbor limits to expand its control over lake surface area. We ask that TVA deny this application and that you intervene on behalf of the community. Our concerns include overcrowding and congestion; unsightly and unsanitary conditions from the floating cabins; blocked access to coves; loss of lake access for homeowners, especially during the winter drawdown; and increased light, noise, and water pollution. Lake Blue Ridge is a shared public resource, not a private commercial expansion zone. We urge you to press TVA to reject this permit application and to require a full environmental and community-impact review before any decision is made. Sincerely,
