I am writing to demand that you initiate and support articles of impeachment against former President Donald J. Trump for engaging in unauthorized military action against Iran—specifically, for ordering airstrikes without congressional approval, in direct violation of the War Powers Resolution.
This is not a partisan issue. It’s a constitutional one.
Under Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution, only Congress has the power to declare war. Yet Donald Trump unilaterally launched an act of war without even consulting Congress. This not only undermines our system of checks and balances—it sets a dangerous precedent for any president to bypass democratic oversight when using military force.
The consequences of his actions could have dragged us into another endless war in the Middle East, without any input from the American people or their elected representatives. That alone is grounds for impeachment.
Let me be clear: if Congress allows a president to conduct unauthorized military attacks without consequence, then Congress itself becomes complicit in dismantling our democracy.
This matter demands swift accountability. I urge you to stand up for the Constitution, uphold your oath of office, and move forward with impeachment proceedings immediately.
