DOGE - Publish the Canceled Contracts—Every Dollar, Every Name, Every Reason
To: Pres. Trump, Sen. Hughes, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Sen. Cruz, Gov. Abbott, Rep. Dean, Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Moran
From: A constituent in Kilgore, TX
March 23
You’ve promised TRUE TRANSPARENCY—but your public reporting on canceled federal contracts doesn’t live up to that standard.
Currently, the limited summaries and vague details give the impression of curated optics rather than real accountability. If the goal is for the public to TRULY TRACK the government’s contract landscape, especially what’s been canceled or revoked, then the full data must be accessible.
Please update your site to include complete records for canceled awards, including:
• AGENCY
• AWARD ID
• RECIPIENT NAME
• TOTAL OBLIGATIONS
• TOTAL OUTLAYS
• AWARD DESCRIPTION
• AWARD TYPE (e.g., definitive contract, IDIQ, grant)
• DISASTER EMERGENCY FUND CODES (DEFCS) (if applicable)
• INFRASTRUCTURE OBLIGATIONS (if applicable)
• INFRASTRUCTURE OUTLAYS (if applicable)
• AWARDING AGENCY
• AWARDING SUBAGENCY
• PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE START / END DATES
• CANCELLATION DATE & REASON
• CONTRACT MODIFICATIONS (prior to cancellation)
• LINK TO ORIGINAL CONTRACT DOCUMENT (PDF or digital record)
Without this, the data you’re sharing appears selective—and undermines your efficiency mission. If the government is canceling billions in awards, the public deserves to know who, why, and what we’re walking away from.
Looking forward to a detailed update
