I was committed to vote Harris. The DNC speech changed that. Win me back.

To: Rep. Jackson, Sen. Duckworth, Pres. Biden, Sen. Durbin

From: A constituent in Chicago, IL

August 24

After that horrifyingly conservative speech at the DNC, I cannot in good faith vote for Kamala Harris as president. You need to earn my vote. I’m willing to. But instead of talking about our military, you didn’t mention healthcare. She didn’t mention the poverty. The property taxes. The economy which is in a crisis we haven’t seen since the 1920’s, which is BIZARRE that no one recognizes it in this way. I am sick of the DNC relying on the repulsiveness of their opponent being their only campaign point. Harris needs to do some actual work because Biden didn’t give us anything for his 4 years despite having a super majority for 2 of them. Give us healthcare. Give us abortion rights. Give me a reason to vote for you except for the fact of who you are not. I’m willing to vote for Kamala despite the fact that she’s somehow to the right of Ronald Reagan on the topic of Palestine. But you’re in for a reality check if you think authoritarian-like speeches like that is going to be all you need to do. I am absolutely sick of the status of America. You all should be embarrassed. I’m absolutely embarrassed for you. Again. I am willing to vote for Harris. But she needs to win me back after that display of complete lack of humanity and empathy for that type of speech.
