Halt illegal war with Iran, respect democratic processes

To: Rep. Velázquez, Sen. Schumer, Sen. Gillibrand

From: A constituent in Brooklyn, NY

June 22

The President's unilateral decision to bomb Iranian nuclear facilities without Congressional approval or legal justification represents a flagrant violation of the War Powers Act and egregious abuse of executive authority. This reckless military strike, bypassing constitutional processes expressly designed to prevent unnecessary wars, warrants immediate impeachment proceedings. The President has unlawfully dragged the nation into an unjustified conflict with Iran, undermining core democratic principles and American global standing. Impeachment is essential to restrain this administration's dangerous overreach, cease unauthorized hostilities with Iran, and reassert Congressional war powers as a crucial check on the executive.
