I just read that SNAP benefits are set to run out of funds due to the ongoing shutdown and Republican created budget mess. This will hurt so many Vermonters. I do not use SNAP benefits but when I had to when my children were born, it made an incredible amount of impact for us. This comes at the same time that industrial farmers are asking for government handouts due to Tarriffs destroying their supply chain outside the country. Meanwhile, basic needs for Americans are too expensive of a price tag. This is also after Trump and the republicans bailed out Argentina with $20BILLION. SNAP was created as a stimulus for farmers in the first place! The hypocrisy, cruelty, and greediness in actions are neither American, nor rooted in Christian ideals of helping our your neighbor. Shame on those who support this cruelty. Leaders are supposed to be helping communities. None of these actions from the current administration follow the path or teachings of Christ. Please talk to these Republican idolators. They bend the knee to Trump, while Americans they supposedly represent suffer endlessly. This is madness.
