I am writing to express my deep anger and concern over how the United States is handling the situation in Ukraine—not just in terms of policy, but in the way outright pro-Russia lies are being allowed to spread unchecked. The level of disinformation circulating right now is something out of a Cold War spy movie, not the reality we should be living in.
It is beyond alarming to see influential figures and even elected officials parroting Kremlin propaganda, deliberately misleading the American public about the true nature of this war. Ukraine is fighting for its sovereignty against an authoritarian aggressor, yet somehow, the conversation in parts of this country has been twisted into sympathy for Russia—a nation that has repeatedly acted against American interests. This is unacceptable.
Meanwhile, the U.S. response has been erratic at best. Are we committed to ensuring Ukraine’s success, or are we merely dragging this out with half-measures while innocent people continue to suffer? Billions of taxpayer dollars are being spent, yet we lack a clear and honest strategy for what we are trying to achieve. Worse still, while we engage in this geopolitical chaos, domestic issues that directly impact Alabamians—like the economy, healthcare, and infrastructure—continue to take a backseat.
I demand that you take a firm stand against the disinformation campaign that is poisoning public discourse on this issue. The people of Alabama and the United States deserve honest leadership, not officials who turn a blind eye to foreign propaganda infiltrating our politics. If we are going to support Ukraine, we must do so decisively, responsibly, and with full transparency. If not, then stop wasting our resources and emboldening those who would rather see this country weaken itself with endless, directionless spending.
Where do you stand? Will you call out the lies being spread about this war? Will you demand a coherent strategy from our leadership? Or will you continue to allow misinformation and indecision to dictate our foreign policy? I expect a real answer.
