Demand full transparency on Jeffrey Epstein case files

To: Rep. Velázquez, Sen. Gillibrand, Sen. Schumer

From: A constituent in Brooklyn, NY

August 16

The American people deserve transparency on the Jeffrey Epstein case and any potential involvement of powerful individuals in his heinous crimes. There has been too much obfuscation and delay from the Justice Department and the administration in releasing all relevant files and materials from the investigation. As constituents and citizens, we have a right to this information in order to ensure accountability and justice is served. Invoking the "Rule of Five" legal mechanism demonstrates the seriousness of this matter and the necessity for the full disclosure of the Epstein files. The public interest clearly outweighs any desire to protect the reputations of the wealthy and connected. We cannot allow elite circles to escape scrutiny when evidence points to their participation in unconscionable acts. The Justice Department must comply with the formal request from senators and release all documents, evidence, and records related to the Epstein case by the specified deadlines. Anything less than full transparency will only further erode public trust in our institutions and the fair administration of justice. This disturbing case demands the truth be brought to light so victims can find closure and American citizens can have faith that no one is above the law.
